Ambaras is a road-access area on the western Simien corridor, often used as the vehicle pickup point after Imet Gogo on the 3-day trekking adventure before the return to Gondar. The surrounding highland slopes and villages mark the transition from foot travel back to the park road network. It is a practical logistics point rather than a multi-night camp, but the approach walk offers continuing escarpment views and rural highland scenery.
