It is a history-focused destination on northern circuits, with stelae, inscriptions, archaeological areas, royal tombs, the St Mary of Zion complex, the Aksum Museum, and optional Yeha or other historical sites according to current access. Commonly combined with Gondar and Simien on 7–10 day historic northern routes.
